Jay
Director and Physiotherapist
Jay is a Physiotherapist and the owner of One Physiotherapy Charlestown. A local who grew up in Charlestown, He studied at The University of Newcastle and began his career as a remedial massage therapist, working with esteemed sports clubs such as The Newcastle Knights and Broadmeadow Magic. After graduating in Physiotherapy, He spent five years in the CrossFit, Yoga, and Pilates communities, enhancing his knowledge in injury management and athletic performance. He later gained invaluable experience working with some of Newcastle's best Neurosurgeons as both a Triage Consultant and Physiotherapist, specialising in lower back and neck pain, as well as chronic pain management.

Rory
Physiotherapist
Rory is an experienced Physiotherapist and the newest addition to our team. Rory graduated from the University of Otago in New Zealand in 2021. He is now a Newcastle local, and like many, is a keen long-distance runner and endurance sportsman.
Rory is passionate about all things injury rehab, from acute injuries to chronic problems, with a special interest in issues of the foot, ankle, knee and hip, especially as it pertains to running.
Rory’s personal running experience includes completing ultra events over the 50km, 100km and 100 mile distances. He also has experience training for and competing in road and mountain biking, triathlon, and other multi-sport events.
These personal experiences have helped him gain a deeper insight into management of overuse injuries, as well as understanding of training theory, making him the right person to talk to if you are looking to improve your own running abilities while remaining injury free. -
Nicole
Physiotherapist
Nicole is a Physiotherapist and elite athlete. She has been nationally ranked and held an IAAF world ranking, competing in 400m events. As a student athlete, she made Australian University National finals in the 200m and 400m events from 2020-2022, and reached the semi-finals in the 2021 Stawell Gift Change Our Game Women's 120m.
Nicole has completed advanced qualifications in lower back and pelvic pain. She also has experience working with athletes of all levels, Nicole has served as a Physiotherapist for Lakes United Rugby League Football Club and has a strong background in Strength and Conditioning.
Nicole integrates this expertise into her treatment plans to help you progress from the acute stage of injury to achieving your athletic or personal goals. -
Yolande
Practice Manager
Yolande, our practice manager, plays a crucial role in our business. With a rich background in the health industry, Yolande began her career in gym administration, and later worked as a personal trainer and in medical administration. Her extensive experience was instrumental in helping establish our business. Yolande is known for her humour and easygoing nature. She is a valued member of the team and is a key component in the great culture that we have as a business.

Remedial Massage Therapist and Receptionist
Shelle, our vibrant remedial massage therapist and receptionist. Shelle wears both hats in the clinic, bringing her wealth of knowledge in the healthcare industry to our team. A Charlestown local, Shelle has been a Remedial Massage therapist since 2017 and also serves as a stretching coach and yoga teacher. Passionate about aerial sports, particularly Lyra, she is also an enthusiastic soccer player. A self-proclaimed movement nerd, Shelle loves balancing, hanging, and engaging in any active pursuits.
